Hi, I’m Lorraine Hjalte, owner and photographer at Willow Creek Studio & Boutique.
Before opening my studio, I spent more than three decades as a photojournalist—photographing people from every walk of life and telling their stories.
And if there’s one thing all those years behind a camera taught me, it’s this:
The best photographs happen when people stop worrying about the camera and start feeling like themselves.
That’s still how I shoot today.
You don’t need to walk into my studio knowing how to pose.
You don’t need to perform.
And I’m not interested in turning you into some overly polished version of who you think you’re supposed to be.
My job is to see you—and then guide you so the confidence, personality and expertise that people experience when they meet you actually come through in your photographs.
Because I’m a business owner too.

The session itself takes approximately 30 minutes,
but nothing about it is rushed.
You'll be completely guided through your looks,
posing and expression from beginning to end.

We'll photograph your different looks, then sit down together and go through what we've created.
You choose the portraits you love.
Your Power Portrait experience begins at $500, including your first professionally finished portrait.
Additional portrait options are available if you fall in love with more.
Every portrait you choose is professionally retouched and includes both a colour and black-and-white version.
